UCHIGHditarod - Feed 1,000

2019 marked the ten-year anniversary of UCHS, and in keeping with one of its core tenets, servant leadership, UCHS held its inaugural UCHIGHditarod, a shopping cart race to collect non-perishable foods for Catawba County modeled after the Alaskan Iditarod Race. Our mission to combat community hunger continues again this year in support of The Community Kitchen and Backpack Program.

In conjunction with the UCHIGHditarod, UCHS students are sponsoring a new program this year called, Feed the 1,000.  Students will collectively donate 1,000+ food items and create a pyramid structure in the Commons Area. The collection will begin March 20. All donated items will go to the Community Kitchen and Backpack Program at the conclusion of the UCHIGHditarod on April 21. UCHS students are excited to “watch the pyramid grow” and do their part to help combat hunger in our community. Let’s help them Feed the 1,000 – send in your donations to UCHS!

Please help UCHS students and supporters pull together and race to combat community hunger. Along with the non-perishable items collected during Feed the 1,000, 50% of proceeds raised will go to local food banks in need and 50% will go to UCHS. We appreciate you helping us Take a Bite Out of Hunger!
