Our swimmers had a GREAT start to their season with both boys and girls teams winning their first meet versus South Caldwell HS & Ashe County HS!  The boys won by 5 points over the previously undefeated South Caldwell boys, while the girls won by a whopping 18 points!!  UCHS also got 21 individual state cuts at their first meet which is a new school and team record!  There were too many great times to list here, to view individual performances click on the photo above.

The Youth Legislative Assembly (YLA) is a mock legislative session where high school students voice their opinions and vote on issues concerning local, state and national government.  Any high school student in good standing is eligible to participate.  Use the link to read more and to access the application which is due Feb. 1, 2002.

Centro Latino is looking for students to help tutor ESL children K-5th grade in reading comprehension or assist with homework.  Hours are 4:00-6:00.  The program will be hybrid this fall.  It will be virtual Monday’s and Wednesday and in-person Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.  There will be a tutor orientation the first week of September (TBD).  If interested, please contact the Program Director, Jessica Lopez, at
