Pulling Together to Combat Community Hunger!
2024 marked the 15-year anniversary of UCHS, and in keeping with one of its core tenets, servant leadership, UCHS holds the annual UCHIGHditarod, a shopping cart race to collect non-perishable foods for Catawba County modeled after the Alaskan Iditarod Race. Our mission to combat community hunger continues again this year in support of The Corner Table and their three feeding programs: The Backpack Program, The Community Kitchen, and Debbie Payseur Frozen Meals.
The Corner Table is a non-profit organization in Catawba County who provides meals with compassion, respect, and dignity to those in our community affected by hunger. Each year, students collectively donate over 1,000 items to The Corner Table. Along with these items, 50% of proceeds raised goes to The Corner Table and 50% goes to UCHS.
UCHS is a school community where students can unlock their potential and make a positive impact in the community while learning what it means to serve others. With your help, we will continue to offer a strong academic education in a Christian environment. Funds raised will help combat community hunger, while also supporting classroom enrichment and a variety of other improvements at the school.
The 2024-25 UCHIGHditarod will be held second semester. Check back for date soon! Once date is announced, we would appreciate your support by donating food and/or selecting a sponsorship level below. All donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for helping us take a bite out of hunger!
